Dear Guests,

Most of the dishes you see here have been traditionally served at the table of genteel Thai families for generations. The dishes range from the humble omelet, which is customarily served to accompany the more flavourful curries to the more exquisite salads. At the crossroads of routes between oriental and occidental trading posts, Siam has been the destination for royalty, diplomats and merchants throughout the centuries. This exposure to a plethora of foreign cultures is nowhere more clearly reflected than in Thai food. Long before "east meets west fusion: became a trend, Thais have substituted local ingredients in numerous dishes whose origins can be traced back to Europe, India, Middle East and China.

It is Thai custom to serve a variety of dishes, which are then shared by all members at the table. However, as always, there are exceptions to the rules. For Thai fine dining, soups are not served as an entrée but rather as a side dish to help dowse the fiery spices.
